A Note on My Signature Weaves
No guesswork needed – I automatically use the perfect weave for your dog’s size. Smaller dogs get my sleek narrow weave. Larger dogs get the wider, extra-durable weave for added strength.
How to Get a Perfect Fit (This is Important!)
To ensure your made-to-order collar is perfectly tailored, I need the measurement of your dog’s actual neck, not the length of their current collar.
Why? An old collar can be misleading due to thickness, buckle style, and stretch over time. Measuring the neck directly gives me the exact number I need to craft a perfect-fitting collar.
How to measure your dog for a paracord collar:
1. Use soft measuring tape
2. Measure around base of neck
3. Keep tape snug but not tight
4. Allow 1-2 fingers of space between tape and neck
5. Record measurement in inches or centimeters

How long until I receive my collar?
Your custom collar will be ready to ship in 2-3 weeks from when you place your order. I handcraft each collar individually, so timing can vary slightly depending on my current workload. I’ll send you email updates along the way and let you know as soon as your collar ships. Windsor-Essex local pickup orders are usually ready a bit faster!
What if my dog grows or loses weight after I order?
Paracord has a little natural give, so there’s some flexibility built in. If you think your pup’s size might change significantly (like a growing puppy), just let me know in the order notes when you place your order. I can build in a bit of extra length to accommodate growth. For adult dogs whose weight is stable, the exact measurement you provide will give you a perfect fit.
How do I care for my paracord collar?
Paracord is easy to care for! Hand wash with mild soap and warm water, then air dry. Don’t put it in the washing machine or dryer. Paracord is durable and maintains its appearance well over time.
What makes your collars different from pet store collars?
Three main things: First, I use 550 paracord (7-strand construction) which is woven for strength and resists fraying better than thin nylon. Second, every collar is custom-fit to your dog’s exact neck measurement – not adjustable, but truly made for your pup. Third, I use quality metal hardware from tack suppliers – the same reliable hardware used in horse bridles and leads. It’s built to withstand far more force than your dog will ever put on it. Each collar is individually handcrafted with care and attention to detail, not mass-produced in a factory.
What if the collar doesn't fit when it arrives?
I want you to be completely happy with your collar! If the fit isn’t quite right due to an inaccurate measurement, I offer a one-time remake service. For shipped orders, the remake fee is $35 (includes crafting your new collar plus shipping). For Windsor-Essex local pickup, the remake fee is $20 (exchange at pickup). Just contact me at info@trixiedelite.com and we’ll get you sorted. The best way to avoid this is to measure carefully using the instructions on this page – take your time and double-check!
Do you ship outside Ontario, Canada?
Currently, I only ship within Ontario, Canada, to keep shipping costs and delivery times reasonable. The $50 price includes tracked shipping anywhere in Ontario. If you’re outside Ontario and really want a Trixie Delite collar, email me at info@trixiedelite.com, and we can discuss options.
